BMW Motorrad is preparing to expand its 450cc motorcycle lineup with a new fully faired sports bike, widely expected to be called the BMW F 450 RR. The German motorcycle manufacturer has released an official teaser confirming that the upcoming model will make its global debut on October 15, 2026, at 8:30 PM IST.
Following the BMW F 450 GS adventure motorcycle and the recently unveiled F 450 R naked roadster, the upcoming F 450 RR is expected to become the third motorcycle based on BMW’s new 420cc parallel-twin platform.
With aggressive styling, modern electronics and a powerful twin-cylinder engine, the BMW F 450 RR could become an exciting alternative to the Kawasaki Ninja 500 and Aprilia RS 457.
BMW F 450 RR Design: Inspired by the S 1000 RR
The teaser reveals a sharp, aggressive sports motorcycle featuring full fairing, a raised windscreen and a sculpted fuel tank.
The motorcycle appears to draw styling inspiration from the flagship BMW S 1000 RR, with aerodynamic winglets, side-positioned daytime running lights and a sharply raised tail section.
Lower handlebars and sporty ergonomics suggest that the F 450 RR will offer a more committed riding position than the F 450 R.
Although BMW has not revealed the complete design, the teaser indicates that the upcoming motorcycle will have a distinctive supersport appearance.

BMW F 450 RR Engine and Performance
The upcoming BMW F 450 RR is expected to share its 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with the F 450 GS and F 450 R.
In the recently unveiled F 450 R, this engine produces:
- Maximum Power: 48hp at 8,750rpm
- Maximum Torque: 43Nm at 6,750rpm
Similar performance figures are expected for the F 450 RR, although BMW could revise the engine tuning to suit its sportier character.
The motorcycle may also offer BMW’s Shift Assistant Pro bi-directional quickshifter and Easy Ride Clutch technology on selected variants.
BMW F 450 RR Expected Features
The upcoming sports bike could borrow several premium features from the F 450 R, including:
- 6.5-inch TFT instrument console
- Smartphone connectivity
- Multiple riding modes
- Dynamic traction control
- Cornering ABS
- Bi-directional quickshifter
- Full-LED lighting
- Optional Easy Ride Clutch
These features remain unconfirmed for the F 450 RR and will become clearer during its official unveiling.

Suspension and Braking
The BMW F 450 RR is expected to use a tubular steel frame, upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock.
It could also feature 17-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes at both ends and suspension settings tuned specifically for sporty road riding.
BMW may offer multiple variants with different equipment levels, similar to the F 450 R.
BMW F 450 RR India Launch and Expected Price
The BMW F 450 RR will make its global debut on October 15, 2026. However, BMW Motorrad has not officially confirmed its India launch date or pricing.
An India launch sometime in 2027 is possible, especially considering that the F 450 GS is already available in the country.
The motorcycle could also be manufactured in India through BMW’s partnership with TVS Motor Company, although local production plans for the RR have not been officially confirmed.
Its pricing and positioning will be particularly interesting because it could compete with the Aprilia RS 457 and Kawasaki Ninja 500.
Final Thoughts
The BMW F 450 RR looks like an exciting addition to the growing middleweight sports bike segment. With its expected 420cc parallel-twin engine, aggressive S 1000 RR-inspired styling and advanced electronics, it could appeal to riders looking for a premium fully faired motorcycle.
More details about its design, specifications, features and performance will be revealed on October 15, 2026.
